About the Choir
GNO (Girls Night Out) is a community ladies' choir that performs at community events in South Simcoe County. The choir has two performances a year, at Christmas and in May. All proceeds from the concerts are donated to community organizations. Since the choir began in December 1999, over $80,000 has been donated. Choir Director
Sherryl Jackson is a retired teacher. She has been directing school and community choirs since 1966. Sherryl believes in giving back to the community. She volunteers at the Good Shepherd Food Bank and works with her therapy dog, Skylar, in Alliston and directs the Green Briar Men's Chorus.
Accompanist
Ruth Currie is the choir accompanist and has worked with Sherryl for many years as an indispensible part of the GNO choir, Minor Melodies and Green Briar Men's Chorus. Ruth lives in Wasaga Beach and is organist at Elmvale Presbyterian Church.
Join us at our Next Concert!
GNO is a community choir in South Simcoe. The choir performs twice a year, at Christmas and in late spring. We also can perform at special locations and regularly perform at Kingsmere Retirement Centre. Please join us at our next concert.
